Joy is the third print in my Resiliency collection. It is a multi-block print, using two blocks and loose painterly inking technique to create an open edition series of prints. Each print is numbered, titled, and signed on the front. Prints are shipped with a backing board and cellophane sleeve for protection.
This series arose as I thought about spring renewal and the resiliency of nature, as well as our hearts and bodies, after long winters and hardships. The emotions and traits that carry us through such times, that bring forth new growth and life, year after year in the natural world. I selected a few words, pairing them with representations of spring. The design is straightforward, but the inking techniques are more painterly and varied, representing the depth and variations of life.
